I'd like President Bush to think maybe there's another way to think, that maybe Kissinger was wrong when he says we had to go in there because he was wrong about Vietnam. Feminism is sort of like God. Many people profess to believe in it, but no one seems to be able to define it to everyone's satisfaction. If I can procure three hundred good substantial names of persons, or bodies, or institutions, I cannot fail to do well for my family, although I must abandon my life to its success, and undergo many sad perplexities and perhaps never see again my own beloved America. And then the conditions of safety - or lack of safety - for teachers in public schools, and the disparity between public schools and private schools is shameful. For years I've kept a list of dream projects. To be content with little is hard; to be content with much, impossible. My first career was as a coach and a teacher. I have to report to those of you who think diamonds make a difference that I cannot tell what it is. Seriously, as you all know, they make no difference at all. They just make the flute look a little more special. I grew up to always respect authority and respect those in charge. Welcome anything that comes to you, but do not long for anything else. A consultant is someone who saves his client almost enough to pay his fee. I can't go back and label myself as an outcast because I was a pretty well-adjusted kid, but I can certainly relate to the feeling of being an outsider. I seem to find different material every four to six months and I frequently forget it which is a shame because it would be nice to have a bigger library. Love and pity and wish well to every soul in the world; dwell in love, and then you dwell in God. All vital truth contains the memory of all that for which it is not true. In the works of man, everything is as poor as its author; vision is confined, means are limited, scope is restricted, movements are labored, and results are humdrum. Instead of focusing on that circumstances that you cannot change - focus strongly and powerfully on the circumstances that you can. Only in our dreams are we free. The rest of the time we need wages. Few people have the wisdom to prefer the criticism that would do them good, to the praise that deceives them. A book is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return. God deserves the best from us. If I were a Roman Catholic, I should turn a heretic, in sheer desperation, because I would rather go to heaven than go to purgatory. To discern what weaknesses and faults separate you from God, you must enter into your own inward ground and then confront yourself. Isn't cricket supposed to be a team sport? I feel people should decide first whether cricket is a team game or an individual sport. Some people think that our planet is suffering from a fever. Now scientists are telling us that Mars is experiencing its own planetary warming: Martian warming. This has led some people, not necessarily scientists, to wonder if Mars and Jupiter, non signatories to the Kyoto Treaty, are actually inhabited by alien SUV-driving industrialists. Joy is not in things; it is in us. To enjoy freedom we have to control ourselves.
