They're youthful and have a lot of zip and energy, but when you see them live, they can only do about 20 minutes because they haven't got the training to hold an audience for an hour and a half or so. Constant success shows us but one side of the world; adversity brings out the reverse of the picture. The other guys drink, but they don't drink anywhere near what I used to. And I think they're slightly respectful of the fact that I'm off it, so it's not a problem. Any accolades that anybody puts toward this band really makes me feel good, because I have devoted such a big part of my life to this band, making it what I want it to be. Man is not the creature of circumstances, circumstances are the creatures of men. We are free agents, and man is more powerful than matter. Finally, I also come in recognition of the great work that has been undertaken by the NGOs and UN agencies that have been active for many years here, especially through the local staff and international staff here in Somaliland and in Somalia at large. Though the sex to which I belong is considered weak you will nevertheless find me a rock that bends to no wind. I think making mistakes and discovering them for yourself is of great value, but to have someone else to point out your mistakes is a shortcut of the process. Sometimes I think my writing sounds like I walked out of the room and left the typewriter running. I've been an inveterate reader of literary magazines since I was a teenager. There are always discoveries. You're sitting in your easy chair, reading; you realize you've read a story or a group of poems four times, and you know, Yes, I want to go farther with this writer. Sometimes I can spend as long revising a manuscript as I spent writing it in the first place. It's nice to establish yourself as an actor first and a singer second. Proof is such a tremendous piece of work, and I'm incredibly lucky to be a part of it. I'm sure that the musicals will happen in the future, though. Attending that Convention and talking with those people and many others convinced me that I should become a blogger in my efforts to reform the government and uphold the integrity of the Constitution and the laws made in furtherance thereof. Fences would be a hindrance to terrorists should they decide to come across a land border between the U.S. and Mexico and to California. The only medicine for suffering, crime, and all other woes of mankind, is wisdom. Teach a man to read and write, and you have put into his hands the great keys of the wisdom box. But it is quite another thing to open the box. In business, the competition will bite you if you keep running, if you stand still, they will swallow you. We live in a disposable society. It's easier to throw things out than to fix them. We even give it a name - we call it recycling. Everything that looks to the future elevates human nature. Nanotechnology is an idea that most people simply didn't believe. Floor exercise, the longest you run is two or three steps. In the vault, it's not a whole lot more than that. I was a rust repairer. I was a rust repairer and full-time survivor. I survived all the major earthquakes, and the Titanic, and several air crash. I've been with certain stars; some are caring and pay attention to their fans and to their fellow performers and some are too busy. Elvis never seemed too busy. I was told I would never make it because I'm too short. Well, I'm still too short. It doesn't matter what your height is, it's what's in your heart. Money buts many things... The best of which is freedom. The pleasures of the mighty are obtained by the tears of the poor. It is the quality rather than the quantity that matters. Some gigs will go great. I figure you do a gig, and as many as can get there will get there. We can get more energy out of the north slope of Alaska; we have available the ability to make ourselves less dependent on those uncertain sources of supply from the Middle East. And it's important we do that. You might as well try and dam Niagara Falls with toothpicks as to stop the reform wave sweeping our land. The capacity of the commonwealth government created under the local constitution to exercise governmental powers in local affairs is like that of local government in the states of the union in regard to non-federal affairs at the local level. When you make a great record, it's around forever. And then, of course, most potters, they go in for earth tones and subdued things, and I like color. You can't buy time or save it, common idioms notwithstanding. You can only spend it. |
