The genius, wit, and the spirit of a nation are discovered by their proverbs. Everybody wants to do something to help, but nobody wants to be first. In my world, history comes down to language and art. No one cares much about what battles were fought, who won them and who lost them - unless there is a painting, a play, a song or a poem that speaks of the event. There are some things so serious you have to laugh at them. It will be a pity if women in the more conventional mould are to be phased out, for there will never be anyone to go home to. It's possible to love a human being if you don't know them too well. The reality is that we are hated not because of our democracy, freedoms, and generous social security system; rather, we are hated because of our involvement in foreign conflicts and quarrels that were never our concern. I don't want to be an action star, an action star's life is so short. I want my life to get longer, I want my career to get longer. Parity is for farmers. I think people who sample are cheating. It is like people who do collages. Use all of your own stuff. A poet laureate of adolescent sexuality and middle-age longing. We'd have to suck away at oxygen canisters between songs just so that we could keep playing. The deviation of man from the state in which he was originally placed by nature seems to have proved to him a prolific source of diseases. But the real focus should be on people who are buying today because the base is so big it will take a long time for any change materialize on an overall basis.
