The optimism of a healthy mind is indefatigable. So usually even if you like a sentence or a story or something, it won't come out that way - it'll come out years later, and in a different way, and you don't really control that. Is there an equality of power between America and Iraq? Definitely not; however, the Iraqi people are standing fast and are defending their land courageously. The only thing I think I can be accused of about paparazzi is being really naive. I didn't think about it coming along with the job and I never, during my three years at drama school, fantasized about one bit of it. I had studied violin from age 7 to 14. You can't dodge them all. People read things into my commercials that don't even exist. My own image of my work is that I no sooner settle into something than a break occurs. These breaks are always painful and depressing but despite them I see that there's a consistency that holds out, but is hard to define. I grew up a Catholic and I don't want to talk badly about the Catholic Church but there's a lot of routine stuff going on. You say the same prayers, you sit, you kneel, whatever. Courage is the ladder on which all the other virtues mount. We need a tougher enforcement program and, most importantly, we need to fix the badly broken ethics system. You have to speak your mind and do the stuff that you think is funny and makes you laugh. Dancing is a perpendicular expression of a horizontal desire. The rewards of virtue alone abide secure.
