The earth is the very quintessence of the human condition. There's always going to be dreams and goals I have, but I never really tell people what they are. He who loveth a book will never want a faithful friend, a wholesome counsellor, a cheerful companion, or an effectual comforter. I am not quite sure where home is right now. I do have places in London and Milan, and a house in Spain. I guess I would say home is where my mother is, and she lives in Spain. Sitting around the house playing the wife and mother is driving me crazy. That's whatever news topic, whatever political process any country is going through - whenever they are in the news, that's when they exist. If you don't see them they don't exist. Men stumble over pebbles, never over mountains. Aerosmith went on The Simpsons and they had fun. Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it. What would be ugly in a garden constitutes beauty in a mountain. Love is only one of many passions. I've seen a lot of highs and a lot of lows with this team, and one thing I've learned is that even though you have lows, you're not going to have them forever, so you've got to keep fighting. After that his Majesty was beheaded, the Parliament for some years effected nothing either for the publick peace or tranquillity of the nation, or settling religion as they had formerly promised. No law can possibly meet the convenience of every one: we must be satisfied if it be beneficial on the whole and to the majority. God help those who do not help themselves. Opera is a beautiful and important diversion for me. That's the method: restructure the world we live in in some way, then see what happens. Music is essentially useless, as is life. The most important event I covered was the Panama Canal debate, which dragged on for months. When the Internet publicity began, I remember being struck by how much the world was not the way we thought it was, that there was infinite variation in how people viewed the world. As far as missile defense is concerned, a very thorough consultation process is underway. Whether gods exist or not, there is no way to get absolute certainty about ethics. Without absolute certainty, what do we do? We do the best we can. As citizens of this democracy, you are the rulers and the ruled, the law-givers and the law-abiding, the beginning and the end. I avoid talking before the youth of the age as I would dancing before them: for if one's tongue don't move in the steps of the day, and thinks to please by its old graces, it is only an object of ridicule. I didn't study acting. To feel valued, to know, even if only once in a while, that you can do a job well is an absolutely marvelous feeling. I'm not letting him write anything. I didn't do anything. I just took his pen. I don't usually experience that because there are few people who intimidate me, but Woody was one of them. These days baseball is different. You come to spring training, you get your legs ready, you arms loose, your agents ready, your lawyer lined up. I enjoy the quiet life.

Rather fail with honor than succeed by fraud.
