ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ Back in the day, I used to be in the studio recording 20 hours a day. And that was all of the time. I still record a lot of hours, but I don't go as long as I used to. Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it. When I first started I was always known as The Girl on the Sitcom with the Funny Voice. As a musician I tell you that if you were to suppress adultery, fanaticism, crime, evil, the supernatural, there would no longer be the means for writing one note. You know, it was uncomfortable doing the same thing. I don't like a rut. To go beyond is as wrong as to fall short. I play a huge variety of roles. But apart from the military measures, security measures, of course, Afghanistan needs great help for building up its social life, its economic life. It has become a very poor country, neglected for many years. I watch a lot of baseball on the radio. Speculation is only a word covering the making of money out of the manipulation of prices, instead of supplying goods and services. This searching and doubting and vacillating where nothing is clear but the arrogance of quest. I, too, had such noble ideas when I was still a boy. I worked in the media from the late 30's through the early 70's. Politics in general became more liberal both nationally and within the state as the years passed. How thoroughly it is ingrained in mathematical science that every real advance goes hand in hand with the invention of sharper tools and simpler methods which, at the same time, assist in understanding earlier theories and in casting aside some more complicated developments. Big pay and little responsibility are circumstances seldom found together. I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving: To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it, but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor. Everyone was going to play their part honestly, and not try and pretend to be good or bad guys. Mr. Van Buren, your friends may be leaving you but my friends never leave me. The best thing about Sci-Fi, which is my favorite genre, is that there are no rules for behavior. So you can do anything you want. Do we elect a man because of what he stands for, because of where he stands on the issues, because how he makes the nation feel? I'm against ignorance. I would just never out anybody. I think everyone has to find it in their own way and their own time. Going to Nashville to meet the in-laws was the first time when I'd been in America and not been seen as some sort of eccentric character with a cute accent. I also believe that member states of the United Nations should live up their obligations to pay their dues. I would like to spare the time and effort of hack reviewers and, generally, persons who move their lips when reading. Consciousness is what makes the mind-body problem really intractable. People have to really suffer before they can risk doing what they love. To observations which ourselves we make, we grow more partial for th' observer's sake. We have three cats. It's like having children, but there is no tuition involved. You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try. The play of limbs succeeds the play of wit. I'd rather let the music speak for itself. I hit rock bottom, but thank God my bottom wasn't death. Fear follows crime and is its punishment. |
Rather fail with honor than succeed by fraud.
