Your voice is your tool and represents you. It's very important to have a good voice where you can be understood. Speaking as a Democrat, all my life battling for what I conceived to be Democracy, and what I conceived to be right, I am yet an American above Democracy. Words are illusions. If you can change three lives in 10, three lives in a hundred, that's got to be good, hasn't it? If I had to put a name to it, I would wish that all my books were entertainments. I think the first thing you've got to do is grab the reader by the ear, and make him sit down and listen. Make him laugh, make him feel. We all want to be entertained at a very high level. To me, human existence exists on a multiple level, not just on a two-dimensional level, not just having to be identified with what you do and what you say. We can't do much about ensuring that the homeland is safe if our local police and sheriffs' departments don't have the personnel they need to keep our streets and neighborhoods secure. Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself. You look at the fact that for millions of years species on earth have been developing and we've been knocking them off at like a hundred a day. The infinite vibratory levels, the dimensions of interconnectedness are without end. There is nothing independent. All beings and things are residents in your awareness. There's always going to be that pressure when you're in front of the camera. When you're famous it's just an extreme version of reality and there's a pressure to look a certain way. A man nearly always loves for other reasons than he thinks. A lover is apt to be as full of secrets from himself as is the object of his love from him. Honesty will never break you. Surely there is a time to submit to guidance and a time to take one's own way at all hazards. There is a lot of work just in terms of traveling and logistics and people and gear and all that kind of stuff. But I never really have problems playing music. That never seems like work. I don't study; I create. I'm hardly disinterested totally in my appearance. I find it a great antidote... lipstick and mirrors and hairspray. The Wreckoning is a darker song. But the record is positive. We are naive and moralistic women. We are human beings who find politics a blight upon the human condition. And do not know how one copes with it except through politics. Feed the troops on victory. Getting emotional about things is a peacetime luxury. In wartime, it's much too painful. Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students. If we want to make a statement about a man's nature on the basis of his physiognomy, we must take everything into account; it is in his distress that a man is tested, for then his nature is revealed. My biographer said that my parties reminded them of a vicarage tea party, with sex thrown in. I think the big thing I've had going for me in that regard has been the success of the league. I don't have quite as much control over things as people believe, so I frequently receive more credit than I deserve, and occasionally more criticism as well. What I have is a bunch of really hungry, amazingly talented guys that can kick anybody's rear end. Time and the hour run through the roughest day. Ay, ay, the best terms will grow obsolete: damns have had their day. I don't know what reception I'm at, but for God's sake give me a gin and tonic. I believe that there are still people who believe that game music is something equal to just an effect incorporated into the game, something like a BGM. And therefore this is something that I would like to show that is not true. My faith is very private to me. It plays an important part in my life, but I do not try and throw my beliefs at others. I have tremendous respect for all faiths and beliefs, but have a deep concern that religion and faith are currently a long way apart from each other.
